QRClik for Windows
==================

What is QRClik?
---------------
QRClik lets you scan any QR code that’s visible on your computer screen and open it directly from your desktop—no phone, no camera swapping.

All QR decoding runs locally on your machine. Your QR data is not sent anywhere.

Files in this ZIP
-----------------
- QRClik.exe → the app
- README-Windows.txt → this file

How to install & run
--------------------
1. Extract this ZIP somewhere convenient (for example, your Desktop or Documents).
2. Double-click `QRClik.exe`.

Windows SmartScreen warning
---------------------------
The first time you run QRClik, Windows may say:

“Windows protected your PC”

That’s normal for new, unsigned apps. To continue:

1. Click **More info**.
2. Click **Run anyway**.

After you do this once, Windows should let you open QRClik normally.

How to use QRClik
-----------------
1. Put a QR code on your screen:
   - Website, PDF, email, desktop app, screenshot, etc.
2. Make sure:
   - The QR code is **fully visible** on your main display.
   - It is **not covered** by any other window.
3. Open QRClik and:
   - Click **"Scan Screen for QR"**, or
   - Press **Ctrl+S** while the QRClik window is active.
4. QRClik will:
   - Scan your screen for QR codes using OpenCV.
   - Copy the QR content to your clipboard.
   - If it looks like a URL, it can open it in your default browser automatically (depending on the checkbox in the app).

Branded / stylized QR codes
---------------------------
QRClik is optimized for **standard, high-contrast QR codes** (black-and-white squares with a clear pattern).

Some very **branded or stylized QR codes** may not decode reliably—for example:
- Big logos or images in the center of the QR.
- Very rounded dots or “artsy” patterns.
- Low contrast or busy background designs.

If a branded code doesn’t scan:
- Try zooming in on it so it appears larger on your screen.
- Try a simpler / standard version of the QR code if available.
- As a fallback, you can always scan that specific QR with your phone’s camera.

Troubleshooting
---------------
• The app opens but finds no QR code:
  - Make sure the QR code is large enough and fully visible.
  - Try zooming in on the QR code in your browser or PDF viewer.
  - Ensure the QR is on your main monitor and not overlapped by other windows.
  - Very heavily branded codes may not be recognized—see the section above.

• Nothing happens when I double-click QRClik.exe:
  - Check if your antivirus is blocking the app.
  - Try right-click → **Run as administrator** (only if needed).

Do I need to install anything else?
-----------------------------------
No. QRClik for Windows is self-contained:
- You do **NOT** need Python.
- You do **NOT** need to install any extra libraries or tools.
