QRClik for macOS
================

What is QRClik?
---------------
QRClik lets you scan any QR code that’s visible on your Mac’s screen and open it directly—no phone, no camera swapping.

All QR decoding runs locally on your Mac. Your QR data is not sent anywhere.

Files in this ZIP
-----------------
- QRClik.app → the application bundle
- README-mac.txt → this file

How to install
--------------
1. Double-click the ZIP to extract it.
2. Drag **QRClik.app** into your **Applications** folder (recommended).

First-run: “Unidentified developer” warning
------------------------------------------
Because QRClik is not (yet) notarized and signed with an Apple developer ID, macOS may show:

“QRClik.app cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.”

To open it anyway:

1. In Finder, go to **Applications**.
2. Right-click (or Ctrl-click) **QRClik.app**.
3. Choose **Open**.
4. When the warning appears, click **Open** again.

You should only need to do this once. After that, QRClik should open normally by double-clicking.

How to use QRClik
-----------------
1. Put a QR code on your screen:
   - Website, PDF, email, screenshot, or app.
2. Make sure:
   - The QR code is **fully visible** on your main display.
   - It is **not covered** by any other window.
3. Open QRClik.
4. Click **"Scan Screen for QR"**, or press **⌘+S** (Command+S) or **Ctrl+S** while the QRClik window is active.
5. QRClik will:
   - Scan your screen for QR codes using OpenCV.
   - Copy the QR content to your clipboard.
   - If it looks like a URL, it can open it in your default browser automatically (depending on the checkbox in the app).

Branded / stylized QR codes
---------------------------
QRClik is optimized for **standard, high-contrast QR codes** (simple black-and-white square codes).

Some very **branded or stylized QR codes** may not decode reliably—for example:
- Codes with large logos or images in the center.
- “Designer” QRs with very rounded dots or complex patterns.
- Low-contrast or highly textured backgrounds.

If a branded code doesn’t scan:
- Zoom in on the QR so it appears larger on your screen.
- Make sure the QR is on your primary display and not overlapped by any window.
- If available, use a more standard version of the QR or a direct link.
- As a fallback, you can scan that specific QR with your phone’s camera.

Troubleshooting
---------------
• QRClik says no QR code was detected:
  - Zoom in on the QR code in your browser/PDF so it appears larger.
  - Ensure the QR code is fully on-screen and not partially off the edge.
  - Make sure the QR is on your main display (if you have multiple monitors).
  - Very heavily branded codes may not be recognized—see the section above.

• macOS still blocks the app:
  - Go to **System Settings → Privacy & Security**.
  - Scroll down to “Security” and look for a message about QRClik being blocked.
  - Click **Open Anyway**, then try again.

Do I need to install anything else?
-----------------------------------
No. QRClik for macOS is self-contained:
- You do **NOT** need Python.
- You do **NOT** need Homebrew or any extra libraries.
